Residual fractions
The process of producing steel also generates residual fractions (metal slags). Orbix has become particularly adept at recovering the metal that is still present from these residual fractions. Today, our process is so optimised that we can even recover the metal balls of ballpoint pens from the residual fraction. Recovered metal is reused by steel producers to make new steel. The mineral fraction that remains is then channelled to new uses:
- Fillinox® as aggregate for the concrete, asphalt and plastic industries.
- Stinox® as granulate or sand material for e.g. road building.
- Carbinox® as sand material that can be perfectly carbonated.
- Carbogran® as granulate for road building and the construction industry.
